Jan. 20th, 2011 09:58 amHere I sit.... in office hours. I haven't even taught yet so it's not like there is any point to me being here... and yet.
So this week. After my annoying experience with public transportation on Tuesday, things have calmed considerably. Yesterday was the first meeting of the "let's learn how to use R" seminar. R is basically an open-source programming language that is being used increasingly for statistics. So we had an intro and I was basically riding the high of "omgggg programming!!" I may not have done very well in my C++ class at UCONN but it was fun anyway. :D Also, you used to be able to TWEET from the R console, but then twitter broke it by changing the OAuth system. Alas....
SO YAY PROGRAMMING YAY
Today I have office hours, lunch, hiding in the library and then microbial ecology class. :3 I have some papers to read for microbial ecology and I really don't want to do it. Like... really REALLY. I had to wake up at 7am so I could be here by 9, so it's going to be a lots of coffee day. BLAH.
Oh yes, and tomorrow I need to teach at 8am so that's gonna be a mess.
Oh grad school.
