diversity training?
Mar. 17th, 2008 11:58 amToday I had diversity training. What did I learn?
-religious nuts are scary
-people talk too much
-something about icebergs
Can't I just say that I dislike everyone equally and leave it at that? Then I could skip this whole thing.
Things that irritated me:
-The guy who claimed that at the core of all people was religion. And that he judged people by their core, and therefore their religion. Oh also, apparently athesism is a religion too, even thought they don't know it.
-The story about the Muslim woman patient who asked for only female nurses and doctors. Which somehoe turned into a moral about how the patient can inpose their own prejudices upon their care providors. Excuse me, but there is a very big difference between the person saying they don't want black nurses/doctors because of prejudice.. and the Muslim woman who is very strict with her religion and is forbidden to be seen by males. So don't start turning that around. kthx.
Also, I don't know what it is about these things that compel people to start sharing stories about their lives.
In other news, I accidentally marked my entire first page of email as spam. Which means it was all deleted.. and marked as spam. I suspect I will be moving a lot of things from my spam filter back into my inbox for the next couple weeks.
*sigh*
