Jun. 15th, 2006 03:38 pmLalala... updating from work cuz there's an hour left on the thermomixer and everyone has gone so I need to kill time.
Things morning was something of a fiasco. We were supposed to get sea otter blood from Cali. Turns out FedEx fuxored up and the package got held up. At 11am this morning it was still sitting at a FedEx hub in Cali. Soo... we'll be getting it tomorrow when it will be useless since it's been sitting for over 48 hours. Non-amusement on this end when we found this out *after* we had killed and bled 10 mice. Ah well.. shit happens.
Finally got good news on the chemicals I need. Turns out that Sigma (the place everyone orders their usual chemicals from) carries the ones I need and we can order large quantities from them for not very expensive. The only thing that annoys me slightly is that no one bothered to check the commonplace vendor for it. But whatever, they were ordered yesterday so probably early next week I'll have something to work with. The only downside being that I hadnt mentally prepared myself to start this... so it was something of a shock yesterday when I was given a list of desired micromolar concentrations and papers explaining how other people have prepared them. My mind went, wtf is this molarity stuff.... aaahhhh basic chem deathhhh... Yeah... fun times.
Every indication says that this weekend is likely to be very dull. Sunday is the family vs. girls soccer game with my sister's team. Both my brother and my dad will be playing. Other than that... maybe hanging out with Lena and Susana since Lena leaves next week. Yeah...
