May he Rest in Peace...
Apr. 2nd, 2005 03:20 pm"VATICAN CITY - Pope John Paul II, the Polish pontiff who led the Roman Catholic Church for more than a quarter century and became history's most-traveled pope, died Saturday night in his Vatican apartment. He was 84." (www.yahoo.com)
He died at 9:37pm in his private apartment.
I can't say I am particularly religious. I haven't been to church in like a year. But I am still a confirmed Catholic. It still affects me. Pope John Paul II did much for his religion and affected lives across that world. He deserves to rest in peace and be remembered in our hearts.
I always feel weird when public figures die... even if I didn't care about them when they were alive... *sigh*
(edit) 4pm: President Bush is speaking on TV about the Pope...
2 min later: and now he's done.
Short, but sats what needs to be said.
The flag is half-down at the White House. I wonder if they will lower the flags here around campus..
