Total and complete torture of the 'oh my god stop, i'll do anything' variety. That describes my oceanography class today. I am so exhasted and I still have 2 more f*cking classes to go to today. Oh what I wouldn't give to just sleep right now. I nearly fell asleep at least 5 times today in a class that I normally pay rapt attention in. It was bad enough that after class I was seeing those little floaty lights you see if you are tired and let your eyes unfocus a bit. I feel bad though because I think the prof may have seen me since I sit fairly near the front. It is so not my day. Whoever thought 8am is a good time for a class ought to be shot in the head. Ungodly hour that. Oh look! I have class... again... and I have to go.. No, I'm not bitter. Not at all. Well, till next time.

Stupid unopen-minded peoples....
Oct. 21st, 2003 06:16 pmThis is going to be semi-rantish, but on a very important issue. It happened much earlier today, but it has only just now settled. Yesterday some girls from a high school in the area visited to shadow people to their. This was for my Women in Science and Engineering seminar class. So I ate lunch with one of the girls and my roommate who was supposed to take her around. Wel, I ended up taking her to my psych class cuz my roomie wanted to study which would have made the girl bored. Well, she was a really nice junior and she actually liked sitting in on my pysch lecture. (She also likes Harry Potter, but that's another story). So yeah, it was all fun.
Then comes today and the clicher. My roomie begins to tell me how the third girl in our sharing group for this junior had been talking with the junior via AIM. The junior said how she thought the girl in my class was pretty. As my roomie was telling me this, I could see the direction it was going. Apparently, later in the IMing, the junor mentioned that she had a crush on someone and it wasn't a boy. And as my roomie said these words to me I could see the disgust spread on her face. All I said was, 'well whatever. That's fine'. So then my roomie's like, yeah as long as she doesn't decide to like me. I didn't say anything, but I was pissed. That disgust showed me so clearly how horrible this view of sexuality is in the US. My roommate talked to the girl for like 15 min. total and was passing judgement based on a comment! I mean, yeah, I love guys, I really do, but if some girl decides, she doesn, well then that's fine too. It just pissed me off that it was happening.
This whole issue of homophobia is like a parasite in the minds of people today and I hate it. Sigh... Now I'm all worked up about this. Maybe I'll just go read some fanfic. Hee hee. S/R and The One True Way, here I come!! AROOOOOO!!!!!
