Final Score 82-73 and thus the chaos begins...
Yeah... so we won. Yay! It was so much fun. I went with Lena, Susana and Heather to Gampel to watch on the big screens there. It was so awesome. There was just so much energy in the room as the game went on. I just kept screaming and cheering and waving around the fun blue and white pom-pom they gave me. Great fun.
Afterwards was pure chaos though. Everyone flooded out of Gampel and into the courtyard near the student union. They had lights and music paying and everyone was in a big mob. We were just standing and watching for a while. In the trees next to us, there were several drunk guys climbing up and swaying back and forth. It was definitely sketchy since the trees weren't all that big and strong looking. It wasn't all that bad standing in the large crowd. At least, it wasn't until someone standing setting off those fireworks that stay on the group and make loud popping noises. When that happened, we got the hell away from that area. It was way scary. Sparks and explosives.
We hung around a bit, but we got bored watching the guys trying to knock over the tree and the crowd and noise. So we walked back to my dorm. Along the way we saw more drunk people trying to knock over street signs and just generally yelling and making noise. Apparently, I didn't even see the good stuff. I managed to download some pics from later that show fires and overturned cars... It makes me glad that I went back to the dorm when I did. I heard sirens and such for a long while after the whole thing so the diagnosis for what will be left of campus by tomorrow is iffy. Oh well. Maybe they'll cancel class or something. Or at least the women can win tomorrow. Then the chaos will be complete.
My hair smells funky though. Being in a crowd of people who are drinking and smoking various substances (some more legal than others) will do that. No time to wash it tonight though... It's too late. Tomorrow morning it is...
I think I need to sleep now...
