goals! and stuff!

I am tracking my food again, and this time I am going to stick to it. I need to eat less carbs/sodium and more calcium/protein. Part of that would be so easily solved by cutting out soda, but I have tried that so many times that I think I need to take a different approach.

I'm also going to start doing that whole exercise thing. SparkPeople (which I use to track my food) also has like, sample fitness program things... so I am going to try doing that in addition to taking walks/running a bit on weekends. (Given my recent encounters with gravity, this might not work so well). I have some fitness type DVDs on my laptop too, so I might just work those into my weekend. (or DDR in the living room, [livejournal.com profile] zeenell I am looking at you).

The goal here is so that I can feel good about cosplaying and possibly fitting in my egl stuff again. (...I mean, I fit NOW but it also feel awkward about it? Floofy skirts don't equal feeling skinny). Also, I keep seeing dresses I want to buy and then realizing that they would not look good.

SO THIS IS AN INSPIRATION POST. FOR THINGS I WANT TO WEAR ONCE I AM DOING BETTER.

COSPLAY GOALS:

OK no one is going to know who this is, but she has basically been one of those ~someday wishes? I might just want to play with wigs..

Also, because goddamnit I love magical girls:

I also have plans to get myself to SDCC next year. No clue what I would dress up with there since it would likely be with a group BUT I JUST WANT TO FEEL OK DOING IT.

Ok no more words, just some dresses I would love to own.

pretty things are good incentive.

(This was basically an excuse to spend an hour looking at pretty things while at the lab. Oops)

The second dress is my favourite, followed by the first one. Pretty!

I joined the gym in August and I've gone maybe 10 times since, and not once in October. I need to get back into going frequently, maybe every Monday, Wedenesday, Friday or something.

I have toyed with the idea of joining a gym, but I feel like I would just not go enough to be worth it. /o\ Until I get more used to the idea of actually going through with making time to exercise, I think I'm better off trying on my own.

Well, you could try doing what I've done since February and do the 4 Hour Body diet... I will warn you, it's very restrictive in terms of what you can/can't eat. There's no counting calories, which is glorious, but you can't have anything white (or anything that could be white). No sugar, flour, rice, potatoes, starchy foods, etc. All you eat are lean meats, veggies, and legumes. It's overwhelming at first, but you get used to it. You just have to watch out for things that secretly have sugar in them (like ketchup, mayonnaise, barbecue sauces & marinades, etc.)

I've lost 35 pounds so far and I'm still with it. The nice thing about the diet is that you get a "cheat day" where you can pretty much each yourself into a food coma to help prevent your body from plateauing.

(I'll be honest, I cheated a lot more than that since February.. but the fact that I've lost 35 pounds and I'm only 5 pounds away from my high school weight is really exciting!)

It's a thought. I tried SparkPeople for a while and stuck with it for a few months at a time. I remember losing about 7 pounds on one go with it and then I slacked off and gained 10.

I kind of hate exercising...

Good luck!

** you get 1 cheat day a week - that's kind of an important detail.

I have heard of that (possibly from you? idk) and I honestly don't think I could stick to it. I have tried cutting things out of my diet entirely before and it doesn't work. And with a cheat day... yeah. (I have low will-power, who knew). If I do start realizing that it isn't working, I may give it a shot.

I don't actually MIND exercising, it's more a problem of making the time in my schedule and sticking to it? I am definitely a creature of habit, so it's hard to make the shift, but if I can get something going it will be second-nature after a while.

Thanks! :D
