2010: a year in review
I haven't done this meme in years. Or, if I have, I have not managed to properly tag it.
So...... 2010: a review.
1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
- traveled a lot on my own! (LA x 2, NOLA, FL, all of New England!)
- was uncommonly social.
- switched to a master's degree.
- gained a lot of weight (ewww DNW)
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and did you make more for 2010?
I don't think I actually made any resolutions.... if I did, I totally didn't keep them.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No (several of my cousins are pregnant tho)
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No
5. What countries did you visit?
None.
6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
More motivation to exercise.
7. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Dec 16th, the night of Adam's last tour show. Amazing night.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Um.... not going totally broke from all my Adam-related travel? Finishing my field season? Making a real and solid friend at school?
9. What was your biggest failure?
Self-sabotage in the grad school department, leading to being ~downgraded in degree.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not really.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Every single concert ticket and plane ticket.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Lots of people :)
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Oh plenty, but let's not go there
14. Where did most of your money go?
Adam Lambert. (rent and bills too, but mostly Adam)
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Adam, fandom, Sherlock, various tv shows
16. What songs will always remind you of 2010?
IIHY, Fever, Airplanes
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?
overall, happier
ii. thinner or fatter?
definitely fatter. argh
iii. richer or poorer?
poorer. #glambroke
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Taking pics with my friends, not just of the stage. xD
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Wasting time?
20. How did you spend Christmas?
With my family, eating a good dinner and opening presents.

Eh....

Project Runway, Glee, Sherlock
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

HUNGER GAMES. Also, I've just started the Mary Russell books and am in love.

27. What did you want and get?
More people I could call my friends?

More time to do things omfg. D:

Tangled, Deathly Hallows, Inception
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 25. The day weekend before, I had a joint bday dinner with my family that ended up not being very fun. And my bday was on Monday. I got no cake from my labmates and my roommate forgot that it was my bday so I bought some Whole Foods sushi and curled up in my bedroom.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If I hadn't been told that I am not good enough to get my Ph.D.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
Black, grey, stripes, glitter.
33. What kept you sane?
Twitter
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Adam and associated people?
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
gay marriage.
36. Who did you miss?
My friends from home
37. Who was the best new person you met?
Everyone. I met so many people I could never even list them all, but everyone has had a huge part in keeping my sane.
38. Did you enjoy this year?
Yes!
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010?
Sometimes you just need to go for it, even if it's totally crazy and everyone around you is judging you for your decision. If it makes you happy and isn't hurting anyone else, then you should go for it.

Before you break you have to shed your armor. Take a trip and fall into the glitter.
