finally!
Two days ago as I drove towards the center in my job hunt, I thought vaguely to myself "I wonder if Cheesecake Factory is hiring". Tomorrow I go to give them 2 forms of ID and a voided check so that I can be put into their payroll system. Orientation is on Sunday.
...My head is spinning.
I wasn't expecting anything when I walked in on Tuesday which is the best part. At most I was expecting to get a form to fill out and bring back later. Instead I got a form, a pen and an invitation to sit at one of the high tables near the bar. When I returned that, I got a bubble-sheet and a 150 yes/no question packet for personality screening. It was a long 150 questions.. the bubbles were quite large and I had a stupid ball-point pen to try and fill them in. I turned that in thinking I was done. Instead I was asked to sit at the same table and wait for the manager for an interview. So by then I'm internally freaking out hardcore because this is totally not what I expected and god I hate interviews. It ended up being HARD! I was asked to retell a time when I made a mistake at work that no one noticed and what I had done. So I got to relive my painful "oops this is the wrong flu strain, there goes 20 mice and 2 months worth of planning". And they asked me what I would do if the phone was ringing, there was someone with a blinking pager to be seated and someone else was asking for the wait time. x_x;; I don't know things!! *dies* And THEN she said, oh we'll call you in the next 24 hours.
So I spent all of yesterday waiting for a phone call. And they set me up for ANOTHER interview today. Guh. So today I got all mentally prepared and the guy asked me like.. 2 questions. And then warned me about how crazy it gets in there (dinnertime there is a zoo...). And then offered me a position.
O_O;; Orientation is Sunday (at 8am *dies*) and then I get a schedule.
Waaah... so fast. x_x But YAY I AM EMPLOYED AGAIN. Finally something is going right....

YOU SHARE!
That was Phil's demand, not mine. ;D But yeah, totally seconded.
That's awesome. You just walked in and got a job, haha. It sounds like they were desperate to hire. What'd you say for that question about what would you do? Sheesh, that's brutal.
Good luck! :D Keep posted on how it goes.

I agree on the desperate to hire front. I think I hit some good timing. Desperate or not, it got me a job.
I said that I would answer the phone to ask the person to hold, get that one guest seated, then tell the other person how long they would wait.. and then go back to the phone. @_@;;
And I'm sure there will be much more posting about how my experience in restauranting goes.xDD

The one time I tried to go there the wait was ridiculous but maybe I'll venture there again soon

Anytime during dinner or a weekend is pure madness for the wait. But both times I've gone around lunch and it's a little more reasonable.
