The best laid plans
So let's talk about my life, shall we? And how things like to just elude me constantly? Yes.
I'm really frustrated with North Carolina. First all the false hope. I'm past that now. Whatever if they don't want me then it wasn't right for me. I just got an email now from Dr. Taylor telling me that my travel reimbursement was denied. So like... wtf. I spent $350 on a plane ticket (well my parents generously did) and then another $70 to stay in a hotel there by myself, all with the assurance that I could get at least $400 of that back. It's standard procedure for universities to do that I would think. I mean, they need to get students somehow!! So now I'm not going to school there AND I'm out over $400 dollars. It's just so damn frustrating. WE ARE NOT MADE OF MONEY!! So glad I refused to rent a car while I was there too. Ugh. Just the icing on the cake.
This morning I was all set to be at work on time for a talk at 10am. Driving along 84, and just past the tunnel and right before an exit, suddenly everyone is at a dead stop. While going through the tunnel, an ambulance and like 4 fire trucks had driven past, and I could see the trucks parked in the right lanes just past where the exit branced off. SO I figured that people would start moving off the exit and I could get to work. Ten minutes pass... people are turning off their cars. The person in the truck behind me went to go find out what was going on. APPARENTLY, someone had managed to spin out on the left and crashed backwards into the guardrail. So the police were blocking the 2 left lanes. But not only that~!! On the exit ramp, someone had managed to crash forwards into the guardrail on the ramp and was blocking the whole road there too. As a result, there were fire trucks in the 2 right lanes. So I sat there for 20-25 minutes waiting for them to decide to move something to let people through.
And that's why I was then late to work.
Oh yea, on a less tragic note, but still equally sad. SA 4 is out so I went to Borders to buy *just that*. But they didn't have it. instead they had like every other volume for all the series I'm keeping current on. MY LIFE IS SO HARD xD
