a million dishes

Lessee... So after my last emo-tastic post I've just kinda kept moving forward I guess. (priority one!!) I sent an email to Dr. Taylor asking if there was anything about my application that led to her decision that I could improve. So y'know.. I could make it better. But I got back something about decisions being hard, etc etc. So.. who knows. Talked to Linda and I get to keep my job until something ends up working out for me.

It's been a busy few days since then and it's certainly helped get my mind off the whole thing. So let's begin.

I spent the whole week wandering into work really late because I was just feeling so down. Luckily it was a slow week and it didn't really matter anyway!!

Thursday night we held our last Shadowrun session of the semester. It was fun but I was sad to see it over. I really liked the character I'd created. Actually I like everyone's characters. Incidentally, that was the first rp game I'd seen through to its conclusion. The first one I only last 2 sessions before feeling so out of place that I dropped out. The second one was DnD and the game just kinda... stopped meeting when I broke up with Jacob and dramaz went down. So it was nice to actually see it through to the end for once. I keep pretending to myself that I'd gonna do some art of the campaign, but I feel like when I try it'll suck. So I never try.

Then yesterday... WE WENT TO THE PANIC AT THE DISCO CONCERT!! WOooo! Bascially I'd heard about it on the radio months ago, so Justin and I went ahead and bought tickets. Then his mom and friend were informed and they ended up buying tix as well. xD Anyway, we stopped at the mall first to buy mother's day presents, then we drove down to Wallingford. Opening acts were: Phantom Planet (apparently that Californiaaaa song is theirs?), The Hush Sound and Motion City Soundtrack. I feel kinda lame cuz I'd never heard of them before. But the hundreds of screaming girls *clearly* had. Whatever, I was there for Panic! anyway. And they didn't disappoint. My throat is actually still a little raspy from all the really loud singing. Plus my feet hurt from bouncing too much. They sound really awesome live and I'm glad. Sometimes bands just sound really shitty live and it's disappointing.

Yup.. Then today was my sister's confirmation, where I was her sponsor. So I got to stand behind her while the bishop smeared oil on her forehead. I'd determined that the church functions on fire emblem skirt-logic, except with hats. The more power you have the cooler hat you get. Also.. you get more than one at a high enough power level. My church is kinda lame though. They have some silly "folk group" that sings all the hymns and songs all folksy. And I feel like they're trying to make church be fun, but like.. it's never gonna be. I'd rather they stick with the solemn hymns and not pretend.

And then we had lots of food to celebrate.

The End.

;_; I actually almost dozed off during the service. As Justin so frequently likes to point out, my sister is headed straight to hell by picking me as her sponsor. Seeing as the only reason *I* did my confirmation was because my mom pitched a fit about it. *not religious*

mmm hypocrisy and false service... delicious. Well at least hell is warm. You're always cold so that'll be good.
