Test Demons

Uwah! I'm finally done with the ordeal known as the Biology GRE. Woke up this morning, drove to UHart. And sat in the same room for almost 4 hours. It was awful.

On the plus side, I felt infinitely more prepared this time around. Last time I took the exam it was without having taken Biochem and without having finished a handful of other core-ish science classes. Let me say.. I was glad of my Biochem knowledge this morning. Also.. I hate plants. There were soooo many botany questions. I DONT DO PLANTS DAMNIT. Luckily I think enough of my review book reading sunk in.

Conclusion: I answered 160 of 200 questions and am reasonably sure about most of those answers. In particular I had a much easier time with the experiment analysis section. I don't know if that means it was easier or that I've gotten better at it.

Next step is to finish my personal statement and application.

In the meantime, I need an idea for NaNo... x_x;;;

But for today... I'm doneeeeeee. wheeeeeee.

I hate plants too.

I never bothered taking any GRE subject tests, mostly as a protest to that part of the standardized testing system and the fact that it doesn't do any good if most of the people do average on them anyway (and most places don't require subject tests).

So is it better not even answering those 40 questions?

It's scored like the SAT. I get nothing added or subtracted for an omitted answer. But if a question is answered wrong, it's 1/4 point off. So if I have no clue how to even narrow down my choices, it's better to not answer at all.
