hoist the colors

Wow, I didnt realize it had been so long since I last updated...

Hmm.. well I guess a lot of last week was eaten up by the whole WFI, LJ drama-nonsense. Where there is interweb drama, I am invariably lurking and watching it unfold. Mostly because I'm bored. And while I don't like being involved in drama and run from it... when it's not happening to me I find it interesting to watch people's reactions. While vaguely disappointing when it's wrapping up... at the same time I'm glad it doesn't happen more often. Like much I do.. once I start, it sucks me in so totally that I do nothing else until it's over.

Then Friday we had to go to a dinner party for a family friend's daughter's graduation from private high school. AKA: forced converation/association with a bunch of uptight, money-ladened annoying people. Granted, there were some family friends there who are not like that. Sadly.. I did not get to talk to them much. I was seated at a table full of recently graduated high school girls and my little sister. Basically it was an evening surrounded by people I do my best to stay as far away from in normal life. The highlight of the night was talking to a lawyer about my plans and being told that listening to my gut instinct and not to other people was the best thing I could do for myself. I guess it validated all my current plans just a tiny bit more. I mean... people I closely associate with and am friends with (read: Justin) say that all the time. But someone I hardly know repeating it kinda helped me feel better about things.

And then we have this weekend which was... awesome. Justin's birthday was on Monday but he was working. But this weekend he took off so I went down there for the it. It was pretty chill all things considered. We played some DDR, Guitar Hero and Pokemon. Ate some pizza. *shrug* It was extremely relaxing though. And I definitely had a lot of fun as I usually do. I guess that's part of what I like about spending time with Justin. We don't really need to have a plan. We're both content to sit and play games and just generally enjoy being around each other. No need to feel like you need to be entertaining.

Then today we went to go see Pirates 3. Now first point: OMG GOLDEN COMPASS TRAILER. *cough* Ok.. now that I've gotten that out of my system. I was mega-excited by this trailer. I loved the books so much and was pretty happy they finally decided to make a movie. At least the trailer looked like they were going to do the book justice. So now.. I wait until December!! Then the movie itself. I'd heard mixed reviews going in which made me sad. And then of course there was my brother's review which consisted of "i don't think i really get it..." but we can ignore him. I enjoyed watching it. Sure there was a lot going on and I can see where people would get confused. But I think they did a good job wrapping things up and explaining what was going on. And yea... I liked it.

This week is looking like not as much fun. Have to talk to person at the Health Center. Need to figure out car things. Whee..

Anyway... till next time!
