Blergh..

Yeah... it's really gross outside. Grey and rainy and wet and just plain gross. It was hell getting up this morning since it was so dark outside still. *wants more sleepy time* We were supposed to do a picnic thing at Elizabeth Park with the usual group, but since it's gross out, we're all going to Lena's house instead and getting pizza. We're so original. =P

Rargh.... I'm so bored right now. I came in all set to do my ELISA, read the plates and then get out of here in time to go home and get Lena's present tomorrow. But then I was told that the cell culture has to be 24 hours and we did that at 1 yesterday. So now I have to wait until 10:30 until I can do anything. And with the incubation times required, I'm not gonna be done until like 5:30 and maybe even as late as 6. Which is when I should be long gone. Meaning I'm going to be late to Lena's, and very hungry. And yeah... *sigh* Still a student and already having to rearrange my life around my experiments... Ha. yay for me.

Finally got a hold of someone who knew how to fix machine. Turns out the light bulb needs to be changed and it's not really broken for good. Still annoying though since now I have to go another lab to read the plates. Also, the stupid lightbulb costs $60. How do I know? I looked online to get the part number while Rob was gone for a few minutes. When he came back, the part # was sitting on his desk. Twas the least I could do I suppose. He said I should take over his job since I'm good at doing stuff like that. I suppose it's good I can be useful for something. I'm good at stuff like that.

I think that's it. Funny story of the week. Helped one of the guys with his computer the other day. Helped him install Spybot and did updates on the only PC in the lab. (it needed 24!!! no wonder it died the other day!!) Anyway, did Spybot scan. He had several instances of something called "porn tracker" and "sex tracker". It took a long time to not start laughing. I don't even know what those are, but it was funny. Now I just need to get my computer hooked up to the good ol' internet so it can be all nice and stuff for school. And with that... time to go look busy by reading some more of that immunology book.

(hours later...7 to be exact) OK, I'm *still* not done with the ELISA. In fact, I'm not going to be done until 6:30... *sigh* And I'm getting hungry again to boot. This day has lasted forever and a half. 'Death in a box with a big shiny bow' forever day.... So yeah... not gonna get to Lena's till like 7-ish. -_- They better save me some pizza... Oh yeah, and tomorrow I lose my desk because Lara comes back from her trip. *sigh* I like the desk. It makes me feel like a part of the lab... Oh well. Back to work.
