Adventures in Ikea-land

Ikea.. The land of... way too much furniture and strange maze-like store layout. Also... land of a Swiss food mart and a Bistro. Thus answering the question of whether one could live there. I mean... you have restrooms... plenty of places to sleep... some computers scattered around.. and a food source.

Anyway. This week has been a big week of prep for the apartment. Since Justin and I officially signed the lease and sent it in, we're been busy making lists and figuring out when we can go buy things. So, as was inevitable... we went to Ikea in search of affordable pretty furniture.

Now... I've heard of Ikea, but never been. But I don't think anything could have prepared me for the sheer size of the place. And then there was the weird twisting layout of the store.. and the sheer number of choices.

We've decided that we would like all the furniture to be dark based; the brown-black color in the store. Or at least close to it. Also... bookshelves. Lots of them. Or at least a couple tall ones.

I had a point when I started writing this. And in the time I stopped writing, I totally forgot what I meant to say. Anyway, the moral of the story is that Ikea is big, easy to get lost in... but also fun. It will also be getting a lot of our money.

And then I imagine the day we move in will be full of woe and frustration as we try to build all our furniture. *sweatdrop*

Anyway... I need a car still. And y'know... maybe my first paycheck. Hopefully I get that tomorrow.

The End

Eh, Ikea stuff isn't that hard to piece together, as long as you follow the instructions. And make sure you keep track of all the bolts and other small things; they're notorious for only sending along exactly what you'll need, no spares.
