It's been a long, but productive week. Got plenty done at work with more to do next week. And I guess despite feeling like I'm going to die every morning when I wake up early, I suppose at least I'm doing something.

It occured to me today that CTcon is kinda in 2 weeks... and also that I kinda haven't started my costume. Well.. this year I'm determined!!! I have 2 weeks to make my Meilin costume AND I'm going to make it super awesome because I've been wanting to make this costume for a couple years now. Of course I say that now before I've even really started. I was looking at the chinese-style shirt pattern I got with the intention of modifying length and sleeves (since the collar wasn't something I wanted to try and figure out myself) and started panicking. Mostly because that's what I always do when I'm trying new things like this. But also because the top needs to be done in 2 pieces since there's two colors and I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to handle that. Something tells me I'm going to be doing a lot of trying to pin pieces of the costume to myself so I can get the fit and cut right. Also... I have 3 yards of $1/yard walmart fabric that I need to pin to my sister to try and get the sleeves right.

Oh right.. I need to buy the actual fabric too.. and a zipper.. and some interfacing.

But it's ok right? RIGHT?! *sweatdrop* I'll do what I can. So long as I don't end up having to stay up till 2am the night before I wear the costume trying to sew trim like last year. Course since I'll be doing this all by hand again, who knows how that'll work out. =P

I've already done a costume in 2 days :D Ok, I was really helped, but I have yet to meet a cosplayer who doesn't finish his costume on the last day XD Go you, you can do it, staying up is part of the fun XD And though I really don't get how you can sew something fast without a sewing machine, I know people who can do it, so you can @_@

Heh. Well knowing myself, I already expect to be working on the costume that Friday night. But I'm hoping I get more of it done than last time.

And the vest for the Natsuki costume was all done by hand. It was also my first time using a pattern, so double fun!! Well... *almost* all by hand. At midnight the night before I begged my mom to show me how to use the sewing machine properly so I could finish the rest of the white trim. ^^;
