vicous ants
*flails around weakly* i feel so.. off. Definitely a result of my nap. But I was so bored.. and tired... and my stomach was hurting. So i dozed off while reading. I can say it wasn't very nice waking up with my finger numb from pressing my glasses on it for an hour in my sleep.
So this weekend it was determined that some small bug has taken up residence in the walls by our dining room. After a few days of finding mysterious poweder along the window ledges, my dad sprayed ant/termite stuff along the outside of the house there. Since then, everytime someone walks into the dining room it is to find several more ants curled up and dead on the carpet near the windows. Now if that sounds creepy to you..... it is. Especially my mom saying, i bet the whole wall is full of ant nests. It's enough to make me not want to go near there. *shiver* So yeah... ants are eating our house. x_x;;
Issue of annoyance this week: I have jury duty on Friday. First, my parents forbade me from rescheduling. Second, I'm doing an experiment on Thursday for which I need to go to the lab and run my samples on Friday. My dad's solution: Go after it's over. So.... who knows what time I'll be able to get into work. With luck (*crossing fingers*) I won't have to go anyway and all will be well.
I had an interesting conversation with my parents the other night. They were asking me about my other friends from high school and what they were up to. Now.. keep in mind that most of these friends I have long since stopped really talking to, much less hung out with recently. Basically in college our interests vastly dispersed. Although more often than not, it seems that *my* interests have gone a different direction and theirs went in a straight path. Anyway, I was trying to tell them what snippits of information I knew of various people (mostly from facebook).
Me: I don't talk to most of these people anymore. I don't do things that they do. The most I see is what's posted online and pictures. And all I see are parties and drinking and sororities and the like... and I don't do that stuff.
Mom: Ah ha! What do *you* post online?
Me: Mostly just me hanging out in my room... anime club pictures.. i don't post much.
Dad: So everyone knows you as the pokemon girl?! (note: to them, anything anime-related = pokemon)
Me: .... Is that a problem?
Dad: *pause* No...
Me: I'd rather be known as the "pokemon girl" than "that girl who posts drunk pictures of herself all over".
That was the part when I walked away. I shouldn't have bothered me so much, but just the way he said it... implied that he couldn't believe I would let myself be associated or something.
Anyway.. that's about all the ranting I can handle. Except for one thing...
WHY MUST THE YEN EXCHANGE BE SO AMAZING NOW WHEN I SHOULDNT BE SPENDING MONEY?! *cryyy*
It's like... 123 yen = $1. That makes it soooo much cheaper to buy japanese clothes. But I can't let myself ><;; (and someone's doing a lucky pack sale for a brand I sit and drool over.... *whimper*). I'm sitting here hoping that the exchange rate stays like that till the end of the summer (not likely) when I'll be able to save money for these fun things.
And with that... back to playing Pokemon... or something...
