So let's see.. weekend.

This week was kinda emotionally tiring for me, but now it's weekend and I can sit back and relax a little. And relax I have!

Friday I had a biochem exam. After the exam, I went and compared my answers to my notes. Conclusion: I wasn't cut out to be a biochemist.

Honestly, it's kinda depressing. I'm supposed to be good at science, but it isn't ever reflected in my grades. And I can see that becoming a rapid problem, especially in my impending grad school decisions. *sigh* But we're not going to talk about that today because that's part of the reason this week has been bad.

Phil came up and visited yesterday and today. It was fun. We hung out, played frisbee, and then went to dinner. There was a trip to the package store since Lena, Susana and Phil were going to a party and then hanging around watching tv and chatting. I had a lot of fun and it was nice seeing Phil again. There was even ice cream!! =^^=

So it' almost april. Today I'm going to try and start writing the intro and such for my thesis, because if I don't start soon I will be more screwed than I already am. Ugh.

Also... apparently I have till the 6th to give VIMS my answer. And I don't know what to do. ;_;

When I took it, mcb 203/204 was totally a nonsensical and weedout class. You pretty much only use like the first month of it in any real-life biochemistry these days. I wish they had taught some p chem so that biochem people wouldn't have to go take p chem separately (it would have also reduced the amount of memorization in the first part of that class too - since learning equations are so much easier when you learn how to rederive them from first principles). And the labs pretty much reflect 20 year old material. Nobody in their right mind would run a sepharose column without a real fraction collector.

basically it's just a stupid lecture with an equally stupid lab ta. *shrug*
