One week without internet...

I"M BAAAAAAAAACK *runs around wildly, waving arms* OK, I am calm. *hugs computer* Well, last week was my vacation from school. I have a lot written for it, but it'll probably bore everyone, so I now summarize... Went to the mall twice, bought PotC soundtrack and Clay AIken CD, had alumni day on Wed., went with family to friend's house for Thanksgiving, did little work, started the scarf, um... I think that's all the important parts.

But first, some quizzes...

pretty colors...

you are paleturquoise
#AFEEEE

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're have good intentions and want to people around you to get along. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you are very good at solving other people's conflicts.

Your saturation level is low - You stay out of stressful situations and advise others to do the same. You may not be the go-to person when something really needs done, but you know never to blow things out of proportion.

Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation.

How compatible are you and your friends?

yes, and now for some massive cuts.

Well, today (Wednesday) was alumni day at my high school. Basically, an excuse for all the people who graduated last year to go back and see each other and school we all wanted to escape so badly. It was so nice to see everyone again, but it was so weird being at school. Like, it felt so natural to be walking down the hall, but even as it felt natural, it was so wrong because we just don’t belong there anymore. There was some stupid panel thing where questions about college were asked and we were supposed to answer. It was dumb though because there were too many people, so nothing was really accomplished and it was a big waste of my time. I also saw so many of the people who are seniors this year and it was awesome. And by saw, I mean that some nearly ran me over when they went to hug me. ‘twas funny.

But the absolute weirdest bit was seeing all the teachers I had. I didn’t know how to act or even what sort of relationship it is with a former teacher at the school you graduated from. Cuz it’s not like the teacher-student relationship, but it’s not equals either. And it’s not like a friendship either. So it was odd seeing some of them. And it was even weirder because so many of them were like hugs all around! Like my 11th grade English teacher who tried to give me a hug and I was like, whoa! Back off! He was a major sketchy character. It was something similar with the math teacher I had for 2 years. He was the mullet-man. I actually hadn’t planned on saying hi, but seeing as he wrote a lot of my college recommendations, it only seemed right to say hi. So I did and he kept calling me hon. I was like, o.O;;…. Ok then. I think you all get the point. You spend 4 years being intimidated by and respecting them and then you come back and they act like you’re buddies. ‘tis most confusing for me. But it was really cool and I’ll even admit, it was nice to see even the sketchy teachers I had because I guess it reminds me how I got to college in the first place. It really was because of the teachers I had in high school. So yeah. Alumni day ROXed.

And then I went out to lunch with one of the few RL friends who read this thing. *waves frantically* We talked and caught up on everything. And while we were in the restaurant, 2 more of my friends walked in and I got a belated b-day present from one. I got an Orli poster!!!!! *dances* The one where it looks like he’s just waking up and looks all cute and stuffs. I think I had the biggest, goofiest grin plastered on my face when I opened it. (hee hee) Now I need more space on my dorm walls... That may be a problem. Oh well.

Turkey Day

Twas a most happy Thanksgiving this year. We went to the house of some family friends who ironically live right next to the campus of my university. Figures. I get a vacation to get away from school and on the holiday I am back at school. It was good. We ate dinner around 4 and it was so good. Turkey, corn, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing and the best sauce ever. It was amazing. It was just 3 families and it was really cozy. Plus, the son of the family friends was there and he’s really hot. And I got to sit next to him during dinner!!! There are times when I bless the Hispanic tradition that dictates giving people a kiss on the cheek when saying hi and bye. (*^.^*) *whistles innocently* Then there was the dessert! Pumpkin pie, apple pie, and this really yummy milk tart thing that the other family brought. (They were from S. Africa and had really cool accents) Then we went to another house and had more dessert. (Loves her pumpkin pie) Just hung out there. I finally got to CHEX my e-mail. That was probably the best part. Thus I got the Thanksgiving e-card that a friend sent. And then we went home and all is happy.

On another note. Total work done since last Friday: ZERO!!! Urk. I’m gonna hate myself this weekend.

*takes a deep breath* Oh and I'm not even done yet.... hee hee

Saturday
Hmm…. Again, not much work done. Went to the mall and Waldenbooks was having a killer sale. Buy 4 of anything, get the 5th free. Thus, bought 5 books. *guilty* I also got the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack and it is killer awesome. I love it to death. Now I’m just waiting till Tuesday when the DVD is on sale. I went to see Master and Commander. That movie with Russell Crowe. I thought it was kinda stupid. He’s the captain of a ship and the whole movie is them trying to catch this French ship and destroy it. The one thing I really liked was the character of the doctor dude who was also a naturalist. So they stop at the Galapagos Islands and he sees the flightless cormorant and really wants one to take back to England. But every time he thinks he’s gonna get it, something happens. Like he’s almost there and instead he sees the enemy ship. Anyway, at the end I was sad cuz he never got it. There was one thing that made it all worth it. The trailer for Lord of the Rings: Return of the King was in front of the movie. I want that movie so badly, but I’m scared for when it’ll finally show up. Cuz then it’ll all be over for real and then what? Sigh…

Sheesh that was so long. I wrote most of the stuff under the cuts during the vacation anyway and I doubt anyone will really care all that much. It was windy outside today. very windy. It suxs. And I'm hungry as usual because I haven't eaten all day. urgh... I need to use up all my meals from the meal plan in 2 weeks. I think I have like 100 meals left. Grab and go, here I come. More later!

Oh a thought. I have a paid account now. *smiles* I have 15 icons now!! *dances* hmm... *ponders buying more* we'll see....
