Yeah, well society can bite my ass!
This quiz that I gacked from
themorningstarr fits in so well with the topic of today's rant against socitey. Yes it does.

Where do you fall on the liberal - conservative political spectrum? (United States)

Ok so I have to put some sort of warning about what is under the cut. If you like America and are intolerant and unable to accept other people's views, I would suggest NOT clicking on this.
My roommate was watching the news this morning and I got much more than I bargained for. I will now proceed to rant.
First, Bush was in England today and there were protests on the streets. I can't stand Bush. Not one bit. So much of what he says just goes against my own basic beliefs. So I am damn proud of those protesters and am disappointed that the people wouldn't let them near him. Society sucks and I should probably get over it, but many of the sentiments of the general population make me want to smash my head on the wall. Take the issue of Anti-American people and the american's reaction to that. People complain because so many countries are anti-american but then do nothing to change that sentiment. It's a cocky attitiude that will only lead to further troubles like 9-11 (RIP all who were there). I mean, even now people are being killed across the ocean because the US just couldn't get over itself. I hate it. People just refuse to see it even when it should be so blatantly obvious. I don't know anymore.
Second, the issue of gay marriage in Mass. I personally would love to see it happen. It would be such a step in the right direction for society. But as I watched the news, I'm beginning to see how hard that will be based on reactions. They read this letter from a lady saying that it was wrong and that they will lose a lot of tourism there because now she will never go there.(though she may have been referring to some other city). I was like, you would refuse to go somewhere just because gay marriage is legal?? The statistic is that 53% of a group of americans who were polled said that gay marriage is wrong. I don't think that's fair. Love is love no matter who the 2 people are. Gender can't change that. It just baffles me how people can't accept that.
Ok I need to stop before I get upset and stop making sense. I think I'm going to go read some slash now.
On another note, I caved in and got a paid account. (need to send them the $ tho and I have no envelopes or stamps) So since no one PMed me an addy for the x-mas card thing... *glares* That'll be up later.
