It's Tuesday.... yes. I must remember that and then remind myself that in 3 days it's the weekend.
Last weekend was nice. I spent Friday evening and Saturday with Jacob just hanging out. We went for a walk on this nifty trail which involved lots of climbing over large rocks. Twas fun. Hopefully I'll be able to go with him and his family up to New Hampshire to meet more relatives on Memorial Day weekend.
Started work yesterday. The De Guise lab consists of 2 female grad students, a guy postdoc and a technician guy. They're all nice and willing to let me latch onto them for a few weeks. Sadly... I still don't know what I'm doing. I wont until I learn how to culture cells.. work with blood... bleed oysters.... use the flow cytometer... @_@ It's weird, I feel so young compared to them. Both grad students are married (one for 6 years now!) and on Monday they spent lunch talking about their husbands and work and houses and kids. And i just kinda sat there and watched.
I'm also secretly hoping that they give me access to the vivarium where they keep all the research animals underground and such. *grin* I'm much to curious for my own good.
But yeah.. the summer looks like it's going to be good. All I need is for a good internet connection and a fixed car. That way I'll have better access to onlineness and I'll be able to stay later at UCONN to chill with RezWeb people and hopefully be able to see Jacob more often.
And now time for dinner!
