Nail Polish Review & Swatches: Nerd Lacquer

A while back, I mentioned that I had placed an order with Nerd Lacquer for 6 polishes. She has been super swamped at the store with orders, so she sent along a special ~mystery polish with each order that took more than 5 business days to ship. (I was secretly hoping that mine would take that long so I could get the polish - I was not disappointed). I got my shipping email on Monday and today the box arrived at my door.

So I bought 6 shades: i think you call me... sexy, exterminate, don't blink, event horizon, hyperspace bypass, and antisocial media. The extra bottle is called: lento. (I assume because this means slow in spanish).

This is the post I'm going to be making to ontd_ai in a bit. I don't wanna do it now cuz the anon post went up about half an hour ago so people will be busy there. Plus I need to test it to make sure it's not gonna break things. (so the tone might be a bit odd since it was written for posting to a public comm.

So... I went to the Manchester show. It was all sorts of epic (although stressful at a few points). But first I need to thank [ profile] mylittlehottie for hooking me up with the amazing ticket and letting me flail and scream and generally act insane with her. Also many thanks to [ profile] herquiethands + sister for be-friending me in Providence and being my patient car buddies for this show. :D

JSYK, I was sitting in pod B, row AA. The seat right at the corner closest to the front of the stage. TONS OF PICS UNDER THE CUT OMG

best. night. ever. )

As an added aside. i totally didn't post even half of my pictures.
There's the whole album. Feel free to use them for whatever. Photobucket kinda borked the quality a bit so if you have a burning desire for the original size of any of them.. just let me know. They're 4000 x 3000 originally...

Providence Idols Live!

Alright while my laundry is going and I'm not going any schoolwork, I'm gonna churn out this review. :) Be warned that this is very picture heavy and there will probably be a lot of words.

08/16/09: BEST DAY EVER Y/Y?

Hey guys, so in case you didn't know.. I went to this concert last night. ;)

I'm gonna put the whole thing under a cut because I took like 300 pictures over the course of the day. So I'm going to post some of the better ones along with the 2 vids I took. There will be rambling and impressions throughout.

those nails look like an adam thing )

chase the morning

Spent most of my evening helping brother with a paper. Not quite what I'd had in mind. *woe*

A few things I forgot on my last post.

Alexa Vega, aka Shilo. I spent most of the movie going "omg wtf else have I seen this chick in". So I looked her up after the movie and realized I know her from SPY KIDS. Or possibly one of the sequels? I don't even remember why I've seen Spy Kids! Possibly during some babysitting something or other. I feel like I saw at least one of them in theatres which is just so lame. lol.

Also... use of comic book scenes to fill in backstory and enhance the flow of the story... awesome. Took me a bit to get used to as the first few minutes are all in comic format and I was just fidgeting wondering when it was going to start for real. But once I was farther into the movie, it just made sense to do it that way.

Ok.. no more rambling from me tonight.

zydrate comes in a little glass vial

Sometimes my family is a mess. And sometimes we discuss Disney sequels over dinner. Tonight's conversation was highlighted by my father asking why Ariel's daughter (in Little Mermaid 2) didn't go back to the ocean and find herself a sugar-daddy. I'm sure it made sense to him.. but I don't even know. lulz.

I watched Repo! The Genetic Opera last night. I'd intended to watch about half an hour of it and then go to bed. Somewhere along the way I got sucked in and suddenly an hour had passed of the 1.5 hour movie. So I just finished it. It made me cry pretty bad.

dance dance dance

Went to Pops N Jazz last night with family. It was a solid show, but I think I need to ramble out a few thoughts about it before it all drifts away.

First, I found the dancers to be very visually uninteresting. Something about their choreography seemed... stiff and unenthusiastic. For a lot of their numbers they seemed to do a lot of the same few twirly moves over and over. I will say that on any dances where they were telling some form of story through the dance it was better.. but still not a whole lot. I feel bad saying it because I know how hard they all work to get this together.. but I feel like a lot of the energy and enthusiasm was missing this year.

Also.. they did a beautiful arrangement of Riverdance with the band and some violinists. I love that damn music, but I was soooo disappointed in the dancer's part of it. They did a lot of swaying and arm waving.. and then they did some linework that just amounted to a lot of twirling in place. It's Riverdance... I know all those kids take multiple dance lessons.. most of them can tap. Surely they could have put together even a little bit of Irish step for it! What they did end up doing in the spirt of it was minimal (and really the same like... 2 steps over and over). *sigh* So much potential. However, the arrangement was good so I just kinda.. zoned out the dancers and listened. xD

The singers were.. alright I guess. I feel like it wasn't the strongest year for them, but they do what they do. And then band was pretty good too. I guess it was a solid show over-all, I just had a few issues with some of the decisions made. ^^;

In other news, downloaded ep 1 of Robin Hood series 3. I think I'd like to try and do a reaction post here as I watch. (Behind a cut of course since I highly doubt ANYONE on my flist even cares about this). I just kinda want to have some record of my having watched it I suppose, as silly as that seems. Mostly because I have no one to geek out with about it. xD

Went out to dinner at PF Changs with Susana, Lena and Heather today. We surprised Susana as she didn't know Heather and I were going to be there. It was.. delicious. *drool* And I have Sesame Chicken left over now to chew on after work tomorrow. Hooray!

As a last random thought, the Pussycat Dolls did an English version of Jai Ho! (from Slumdog Millionaire). *headdesk* Why would they do that?!
